Welcome to TheGreyLens, a voice-first dating application ("App") and website ("Site") operated by TheGreyLens ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App or Site (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older, that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction. We reserve the right to terminate any account we determine belongs to a user under 18, without notice and without liability.
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of genuine social connection. You must not:
You retain ownership of content you upload to the Service, including voice notes, photographs, and messages ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant TheGreyLens a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, process, and deliver that content solely to operate the Service. This licence terminates when you delete your account or the specific content, subject to our retention practices.
You represent and warrant that you own all rights to your User Content or have obtained all necessary permissions, that it does not infringe any third-party rights, and that it complies with all applicable laws. You are solely responsible for your User Content. We expressly disclaim all liability in connection with User Content submitted by users.
Profile voice notes are accessible to all registered users as part of the discovery feed. Chat voice messages are accessible only to the matched pair and are automatically deleted after 24 hours. You must not record or reproduce another user's voice without their express consent. We do not use your voice recordings for advertising or sell them to any third party.
Profile photographs remain hidden until both users in a match have independently and voluntarily consented to a reveal after at least 50 messages. You must only upload photographs of yourself. Sharing, screenshotting, or distributing a revealed photo outside the Service without the other user's explicit consent is strictly prohibited and may constitute a violation of applicable law. TheGreyLens bears no liability for any misuse of revealed photographs by other users.
Voice calls unlock after 25 messages; video calls unlock after a mutual reveal. Calls use encrypted peer-to-peer WebRTC technology. Recording or transmitting another user's call without their explicit consent is prohibited and may be illegal in your jurisdiction. We are not a party to any call and bear no responsibility for call content.
Certain features are available via a Premium subscription or one-time in-app purchases, processed exclusively through Google Play. All pricing, billing terms, and refund eligibility are governed by Google Play's policies. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled through your Google Play account settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue premium features at any time. No refunds will be issued by us for unused subscription periods or feature changes except where required by applicable law or Google Play policy.
We provide in-app reporting tools for users to flag content or behaviour that violates these Terms. We reserve the right — but are not obligated — to review, remove, or restrict any User Content or account at any time at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Moderation decisions are final. We are not liable for any delay in removing violating content or for failing to detect violations.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Data deletion is governed by our Privacy Policy. We bear no liability to you or any third party for any termination of your account.
We make no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements; that any user is who they claim to be or is suitable for dating; that you will form any relationship through the Service; or that User Content posted by others is accurate, truthful, or lawful.
Always exercise caution when interacting with people you meet online. Never share financial information, never send money to someone you have not met in person, and meet new contacts for the first time in a safe, public location.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the three months immediately preceding the event, or (b) INR 500.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TheGreyLens and its directors, employees, agents, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your User Content; (c) your use of the Service; (d) your violation of any third-party right or applicable law; or (e) any dispute between you and another user.
We do not conduct background checks on users. We are not responsible for the offline conduct of any user, and we expressly disclaim all liability for any harm, injury, loss, or damage arising from in-person meetings between users that originate through the Service. You engage with other users entirely at your own risk.
The Service integrates with third-party services including Google Play, Google Sign-In, and Cloudflare. These are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of any third-party service.
The Service — including its design, code, branding, text, graphics, and features, excluding User Content — is the exclusive property of TheGreyLens and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TheGreyLens regarding the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification or email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and delete your account.
