Is GreyLens really photo-free?
In discovery, completely. Every profile in the feed shows an emoji avatar, vibe tags and a voice note — never a photo. Your pictures live in your profile but stay blurred to everyone until a mutual reveal, so what people respond to first is how you actually sound.
When exactly do photos get revealed?
Once your conversation passes the message milestone — 50 messages by default, with a minimum from each side so it can't be one person spamming. After that, you each tap consent independently. Nothing is revealed until both of you have. The count is verified on our servers, so a modified app can't jump the queue.
What does it cost?
The core app is free: free voice notes every week, up to 20 connects a day, unlimited chatting with your matches, voice calls, and the reveal. Premium is a monthly subscription billed through Google Play that lifts those limits and adds Boost, advanced filters, Streak Shield and more. The exact price in your currency is always shown in Play checkout before you confirm.
I'm not confident about my voice. Is this for me?
Especially for you. There are 66 prompts to pick from, you can re-record as many times as you need before posting, and nobody hears an unfinished take. Most people find a 30-second answer to a good question far easier than writing a bio that sounds like a résumé.
How do you handle fake profiles?
Verification is a 10-second selfie video reviewed by a person, not a static photo that can be lifted from anywhere. Every uploaded photo is machine-scanned before it's stored. Reports escalate automatically, and you can filter your feed to verified profiles only.
What happens to my chats and voice notes?
Chat messages disappear from the conversation after 24 hours, and residual server copies are permanently deleted within 180 days. Voice status posts expire in 24 hours. Your recordings are never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train external AI models. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
Which devices can I use?
GreyLens launches on Android first. There's also a browser version at social.thegreylens.com/app if you'd rather not install anything yet. iOS isn't available at the moment.
